#one of the most underrated moments within a moment #and one among many that render the idea of dan only knowing the sunshine and daisies of blair ridiculous #it’s in the details #he noticed the details #he saw her #not whatever part of her was convenient for him #not whatever part of her he could use to convince himself that they were ~mean2b or epic #he didn’t reduce her to just being dark!blair or light!blair #he didn’t reduce her to a concept #and lord knows no one was more prejudiced against blair at the outset than dan humphrey #so tell me again how he doesn’t know her ~dark side #because i need a laugh

#everyone talks about how dan made blair a better person #more like her true independent ambitious and strong self and that’s totally true #but here’s the thing: blair made dan a better person too #his love for her changed him #look at how he supported her unconditionally #look at how he learned to love ALL her qualities even the ones he initially hated about her #look at how he became less judgemental and more patient and caring #LOVE SHOULD MAKE YOU BETTER PEOPLE #and that’s what dair was: pure and simple love that changed dan and blair in the best of ways #i’m just going to lie down now and cry myself to death ok
